Who qualifies for financial assistance?
To be eligible for financial assistance, campers MUST:
  • Live in Alachua County.
  • Be entering Kindergarten through 12th grade in the 2024 - 2025 school year.
  • Meet one or more scholarship criteria.
What are the criteria for scholarship assistance?

Criteria for full assistance include:

  • Camper’s family falls below 200% of 2024 federal poverty guidelines.
  • Camper’s family receives SNAP benefits.
  • Camper has an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and/or 504 Plan (must also be at or below 400% of 2024 federal poverty guidelines).
  • Camper is in foster care, voluntary formal kinship care, or under case management supervision

Criteria for partial assistance include:

  • Camper’s family falls between 200% and 400% of 2024 federal poverty guidelines.
What documentation is required for each qualification criteria?

Camper’s family falls below 200% or between 200% - 400% of federal poverty guidelines:

  • Income statements (pay stubs or other proof of income)
  • Recent (2023) tax return
  • Dated letter from employer

Camper’s family receives SNAP benefits:

  • SNAP eligibility form or dated letter
  • A copy of a SNAP or EBT card is not accepted, as it does not include a date

Camper has an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and/or 504 Plan (below 400% of 2024 federal poverty guidelines):

  • Copy of the camper’s IEP or 504 Plan; only first page needed

Camper is in foster care, voluntary formal kinship care, or under case management supervision:

  • Dated placement letter
